Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
Workshop Service Manager
to lead our busy Harris Retail service department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient running of the workshop, ensuring exceptional service delivery, team leadership, and operational excellence in line with Harris Group standards and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all day-to-day operations of the workshop.
* Ensure service and repair work is carried out efficiently, correctly, and in a timely manner.
* Drive a customer-centric approach, ensuring service excellence and satisfaction.
* Monitor workshop productivity, quality, and performance KPIs.
* Supervise, coach, and develop a team of technicians, service advisors, and administrative staff.
* Liaise with parts, sales, and technical departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Manage job allocation, time management, and resource planning.
* Ensure all health, safety, and environmental policies are followed.
* Manage warranty processes and liaise with OEM partners for compliance and claims.
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and invoicing using the DMS system.
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and profitability.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience (5+ years) in a similar workshop or aftersales managerial role, ideally within commercial vehicles or automotive industry.
* Strong technical knowledge of commercial vehicles (EV experience is an advantage).
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Strong understanding of workshop systems, KPIs, and productivity measures.
* Familiar with OEM warranty processes and service level agreements.
* Customer-focused mindset with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in using workshop management systems (e.g., Keyloop, Kerridge, Autoview, etc.)
* Full valid driver's licence (HGV licence a plus).
Desirable Qualities
* EV/Hybrid vehicle servicing knowledge or certifications.
* Experience managing a multi-brand service operation.
* Qualifications in automotive technology or mechanical engineering.
