About the Role

As part of the senior leadership team, the Membership & Engagement Manager is responsible for developing and delivering a high-impact membership growth strategy, a compelling events programme, and integrated communications that enhance the Chamber’s influence, value proposition, and reputation.

This role calls for a strategic thinker with a track record of execution. Someone who can plan and deliver high-profile events, drive innovation in member experience, and align activities with the Chamber’s overarching vision for regional economic development.

* Measurable growth in member satisfaction, retention, and new member acquisition.
* Increased visibility and influence of the Chamber across traditional and digital channels.
* Strategic alignment with CEO and Board on commercial and engagement goals.

Key Responsibilities

Membership Growth & Engagement

* Drive membership growth by identifying and engaging prospective members through proactive outreach, networking, and targeted campaigns.
* Develop and implement strategic membership growth plans, with a clear focus on attraction, retention, and pipeline development.
* Maintain an accurate pipeline of leads and regularly report on progress against defined KPI’s and growth targets.
* Manage the full membership lifecycle: from acquisition and onboarding to engagement, retention, and renewal—ensuring a seamless and value-driven member experience.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with members to maximise engagement, satisfaction, and awareness of member benefits.
* Leverage the Chamber’s CRM system & digital/social tools to monitor engagement, track satisfaction metrics, and generate insights that inform data-led growth and retention strategies.
* Plan and lead targeted acquisition and retention campaigns, developing tailored value propositions for different segments within a tiered membership model.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create high-impact, exclusive member experiences that reinforce the value of membership to Limerick Chamber.

Event Management

* Plan, design and deliver a diverse and engaging events programme, including networking sessions, policy forums, flagship conferences and signature events including the Mid-West’s largest annual business lunch, Annual Business Awards and Presidents Dinner.
* Identify and maximise revenue opportunities by developing commercially viable events, managing operational aspects including venue sourcing, supplier coordination, bookings, speaker engagement, and ticketing logistics.
* Ensure all events consistently deliver exceptional attendee experience, strong brand presence, and measurable return on investment.
* Innovate and introduce new event formats—including in-person, hybrid, and digital—to meet evolving member needs and expand reach.
* Lead post-event analysis, analysing key performance indicators and attendee feedback to drive continuous improvement and elevate future events.

Marketing, Communications & Engagement

* Lead all Chamber communications, overseeing content creation, branding, and deliver campaigns across print and digital platforms.
* Implement a digital-first engagement approach, including a streamlined member onboarding experience and digital member packs.
* Serve as the brand guardian, ensuring consistent tone, visual identity, and messaging across all member and public-facing touchpoints to strengthen brand recognition and trust

Key Requirements

* 5+ years in a senior-level role in events, marketing, or membership management, preferably in a member-based or non-profit organisation.
* Proven ability to generate commercial revenue, manage budgets, and deliver against KPIs.
* Demonstrated success in designing, executing marketing and communications strategies across digital and traditional platforms - proven experience in measuring their success.
* Proven proficiency in CRM systems and digital engagement tools to manage member data, track interactions, and generate insights.
* Demonstrated expertise in event strategy, integrated marketing, and stakeholder engagement.
* Excellent written and verbal communicator, with a keen eye for brand consistency and messaging clarity. Experience presenting to senior stakeholders or boards an advantage.
* Self-motivated and proactive, with a solutions-oriented mindset and a passion for delivering value to members.
* Experience working collaboratively in a lean team environment and adapting to evolving organisational needs.

Desirable

* Knowledge of the local business environment and sector trends is highly desirable.
* Experience working with Boards or governance frameworks.
* Strong regional network across the Mid-West public/private sectors.
* Knowledge of economic development or regional policy (an advantage).
* A relevant qualification in business, marketing, communications, or event management.
* Ongoing CPD or postgraduate study is valued.
