Role Related Activities
To operate and manage, within a team environment, a food manufacturing and packing facility in line with all stipulated regulatory, safety and organisational requirements.
Specific Tasks & Responsibilities
· Ensuring compliance to documented procedures so that product safety, quality, legal and integrity standards are met.
· Responsible for planning, prioritisation and achieving the necessary standards for the area
· Ensuring stock rotation (implementation of First In First Out).
· Preparing raw material batches for production including packaging and ingredients.
· Responsible for monthly stock takes and ensuring all products/packaging are labelled appropriately and materials are available for production.
· Managing and maintaining the waste disposal systems.
· Assisting with internal, customer and regulator audits as required.
· Ensuring all staff and contractors adhere to dress code, safety codes, whilst on site on in production areas.
· Ensure production staff complete production records, cleaning records and all records submitted to Quality manager.
· Ensure samples are taken and sample book in laboratory.
· Ensure all equipment used in production is fit for purpose.
· Complete mass balance for production runs.
· Liaise with production staff to ensure that staff maintain all areas on the site to a high standard
· Attend production meetings/planning.
· Where possible advice of production improvements that can be achieved.
· Maintain high standards of personal hygiene.
· Carry out all relevant duties in accordance with SOP'S and pre-requisites.
· Ensure completed production products are stored in correct warehouse and part bags closed to avoid contamination issues.
· Ensure all allergens and non-allergens are stored correctly in warehouses.
· Custody of keys for all rooms/access doors in the building to ensure that no unauthorised person has any access to any part of the building.
· Ensure that the Warehouse function is managed in line with all Safety, Quality and other
· regulatory requirements.
· Ensure that annual and monthly productions plans are developed and delivered upon, at all times with the customer needs as a priority.
· Ensure all employees are properly trained and competent.
· Motivate and instil a sense of ownership among members of the team
· Deal effectively with abnormal conditions, for example, quality problems,
· customer complaints etc.

S&E
* No LTA's or reportable incidents.
* No serious audit observations.
* No incidents due to poor permitting.
* No odour or noise complaints.
* Workplace is maintained at a standard that ensures employees health and safety
Quality
* Reject rate.
* Customer complaints.

* Documentation quality.
* Agreed quantities of product produced.

* Absenteeism is actively managed

Plant
* Site housekeeping target to be achieved.
* General appearance of the plant improved by continuous up-grading and repair.
Education, Experience & Training
-Degree in Science or Engineering.
-5+ year's food manufacturing experience.
-Experience of utilities, waste management and materials management
