Job Description

Responsibilities
* Support Senior Carers and Nurses to deliver the best quality care possible in the home.
* Provide support during mealtimes and be involved in all activities provided by the home to promote relationship-centred care, building relationships within the care home.
* Assist with ensuring care plans are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect residents\' needs and the care being delivered.
* Record and report, complete food and fluid charts, or other daily monitoring records.
* Always follow service users\' care plans.
* Maintain positive and meaningful interaction with service users.
* Assist with cleaning and tidying of the establishment to support infection control.
* Assist residents with activities of daily living.
* Support residents in participating in recreational activities and therapeutic programs designed to promote social engagement.
* Foster a safe and supportive environment for residents.
* Participate in ongoing training and education initiatives to enhance knowledge and skills in dementia care and best practices.
* Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with residents and their families.
Requirements
* FETAC/QQI Level 5 qualification in healthcare or equivalent.
* Minimum experience required: 1 year of HCA experience.
* Experience working in a healthcare environment with good knowledge of HIQA standards is preferable.
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* Reliable and professional.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Ability to maintain a positive outlook.
