Our client, a highly successful, independent manufacturer within the automation sector in Ireland, is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to provide comprehensive support to its customers across Ireland (32 counties).
This role includes carrying out preventative maintenance, responding to unscheduled service calls, and ensuring optimal performance of our client’s machinery and systems.
Main Responsibilities:
• Carry out preventative maintenance on end-of production line systems including, machines, technology, conveyors and product handling equipment
• Manage effective breakdown and repair services
• Be responsible for parts inventory & management of this
• Utilize maintenance software to generate detailed and accurate job reports
• Install new machinery and provide training on this to customers
• Install, configure, and provide training on design and control software
• Willingness to travel within the 32 counties (occasional overnight stays required)
• A good level of computer literacy, with a willingness/ability to self-teach various configuration packages
• Third-level qualification (e.g., degree, diploma, or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated knowledge of control systems and pneumatics
• Full, clean driver's license
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency with various software applications, with a willingness/ability to self-teach various configuration packages
• Problem solving skills in high pressure situations
• Good communication skills with a personable manner and a positive attitude
• Ability to be able to work unsupervised and implement lateral thought process when required
• Willingness to travel within the 32 counties (overnight stays may be required, but not common)
Preferred:
• A good level of both electrical and mechanical aptitude
• Experience with labelling, label printing, and barcode scanning technologies
