Our Tralee centre is looking for an Adolescent & Adult Psychotherapist to join their team.
This is a permanent contract of 20 hours per week:
- Monday 1pm-6pm
- Tuesday 1pm-6pm
- Thursday 9am-2pm
- Friday 9am-2pm
Location: 28 Moyderwell, Tralee, County Kerry, V92 ADP1
Position Type: 20 hours per week, Permanent
Salary: €31.22 per hour
Role & Responsibilities:
1. Provide therapeutic support to clients in suicidal or self-harm crisis, and those bereaved by suicide.
2. Conduct risk & suitability assessments and implement risk management plans.
3. Provide evidence-informed, brief, strengths-based, and goal-focused interventions.
4. Collaborate with other professionals supporting the client.
5. Fulfill obligations under the Children First Act 2015.
6. Adhere to Pieta's policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislation such as Health and Safety, GDPR, and Child Protection.
7. Maintain accurate, confidential records using Salesforce.
8. Attend external clinical supervision twice a month (paid) and internal group supervision monthly.
9. Contribute to research, audits, and service evaluations.
10. Maintain professional boundaries.
11. Participate in team and other relevant meetings.
12. Share information appropriately with the Clinical Service Manager, Regional Manager, and team.
Education, Skills & Experience:
1. Recognized qualification at QQI Level 8 in Counselling and/or Psychotherapy (Level 7 accepted if accredited and obtained pre-2018).
2. Fully accredited* Psychotherapist with at least 50 hours of personal therapy.
3. Minimum certificate qualification to work with clients under 18 (applicants in training considered).
4. Experience with under 18s and relevant training.
5. Knowledge of Brief Solution Focused Interventions, CBT, etc.
6. Ability to reflect on practice for personal and professional development.
7. Warmth, empathy, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
8. Teamwork ability, good time management, and relationship-building skills.
*Accepted accreditation bodies include IACP, BACP, IAHIP, FTAI, NAPCP, IAPTP, APPI, APCP, ICP
