We are looking for a Head of Finance to support the growth of the business. This individual will be a key member of the senior management team and presents a great opportunity to an ambitious candidate to join a company on an exciting growth trajectory.
The role is both hands‑on and operational with a strategic requirement. The candidate will provide leadership, oversight, and direction to the finance function as well as to the wider business. The successful candidate will be a commercially minded partner to the Managing Director, working across various functional aspects of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work closely with the MD and other senior leaders to develop and implement business plans and budgets, acting as a commercial sounding board for the MD.
* As part of the senior leadership team, challenging assumptions and decision‑making as appropriate, and providing financial analysis aligning the approach to the strategy.
* Develop and maintain financial forecasting and budgeting processes and systems to deliver a fit for purpose finance and operational function with timely, accurate, insightful and compliant financial reporting to the senior management team and Board as appropriate.
* Develop and maintain timely, comprehensive, and accurate KPIs and business reporting processes that drive performance.
* Develop and optimise the companys financial and ERP systems, ensuring they are appropriate, and future‑proofed.
* Take control of and drive improvement in key operational metrics around margin, labour percentage, etc.
* Cashflow management and forecasting
* Direct and manage finance staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and developed so that they fulfil their responsibilities to the required standard.
* Ensure full compliance in all areas of finance and taxation.
* Oversight on any legal and commercial contract negotiations.
* Lead the fundraising activities of the company.
* Manage key relationships with external stakeholders and partners including Auditors, Bankers, Legal Representatives etc. as required.
* Establish and manage company policies regarding risk management and working capital management as appropriate.
* Complete day‑to‑day financial management and reporting of the Company.
The ideal candidate for the role would have all, or most, of the following experience points:
* A recognised accounting or financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
* Prior experience in a senior financial position with a track record of creating value for shareholders.
* Experience in driving accounting and management information systems implementations and improvements.
* Experience of professionalising finance processes and teams, driving reporting and process improvements.
* Strong financial modelling and data analysis capability.
* Experience in FMCG and stock management
* A can‑do attitude, with a will to roll up your sleeves to get things sorted.
