Job Description:
BnM seeks a Head of Strategic Infrastructure & Technology to lead the planning and execution of integrated technology and infrastructure initiatives ensuring organisational success in the renewable energy landscape out to 2050.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Technology
2. Portfolio Management: Lead a team managing diverse multi-portfolio technologies, including offshore wind, thermal, flextech, and e-fuels, aligning with the company's long-term vision for 2050.
3. Develop a roadmap for technology deployment and infrastructure investments supporting sustainable growth and operational efficiency, working with the Finance team to ensure deliverability.
4. Commercial Development
5. Work closely with the Commercial Strategy and Route to Market team to develop project proposals and business cases supporting key investment decisions.
6. Lead a team of technology and infrastructure experts providing necessary data and insights to facilitate informed investment decisions.
7. Infrastructure Planning
8. Drive the development of a comprehensive grid and infrastructure plan aligning with national energy policies and industry standards, ensuring future readiness and scalability.
9. Collaborate with EirGrid, CRU GNI, Uisce Eireann, and other key stakeholders to agree on infrastructure requirements, timelines, and investment strategies.
10. Formulate and implement a future market plan protecting the organisation's interests and positioning it favourably within the evolving energy landscape.
11. Analyse market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic decisions and identify opportunities for growth.
12. Horizon Scanning
13. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices, conducting research to inform strategic decisions and drive innovation within the organisation.
14. Encourage a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, leveraging data and insights to enhance technology deployment and infrastructure effectiveness.
15. Stakeholder Engagement
16. Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, regulatory bodies, industry partners, and other stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for infrastructure projects.
17. Represent the organisation in public consultations, forums, and industry events, effectively communicating the company's strategic vision and objectives.
18. Lead management of joint venture partners or key stakeholders in key technology or infrastructure development segments.
19. The Ideal Candidate:
20. Must possess an Honours Degree in Engineering, Commercial, or Renewable Energy fields, with postgraduate qualifications advantageous.
21. A minimum of 10 years' experience in Renewable Energy or Infrastructure is required, with proven track records of managing large-scale projects and collaborating with regulatory bodies and key stakeholders.
22. Strong leadership skills, excellent project management, strategic planning, and execution capabilities are essential, along with deep understanding of renewable energy technologies, energy markets, and grid infrastructure, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
