Position OverviewDriver – Vision Ireland Retail (Base: Toughers, Naas Enterprise Park, Naas, Co Kildare). The van driver delivers and collects clothing from Vision Ireland Retail shops nationwide, supporting the retailer’s mission to provide essential services to people who are blind or vision impaired.ResponsibilitiesSupport Vision Ireland Retail shops by collecting and delivering clothing.Maintain assigned vehicle with daily and weekly checks.Comply fully with Irish driving regulations and traffic laws.Adhere to health and safety working practices.Keep vehicles clean and tidy, cleaning at least once a week.Ensure no vehicle damage or Road Traffic Act breaches; report any damages immediately to the line manager, including photos and insurance details.Present a professional image of Vision Ireland Retail at all times.Work reasonable additional hours and perform any other duties as required.Travel to meetings and training sessions as required.Have basic knowledge of Vision Ireland Retail structures and current activities.Engage and support fundraising and marketing initiatives.Communicate instructions and information effectively to van team members.Complete and return required documentation (collection/delivery notes, vehicle checklists, mileage sheets, fuel receipts).Work with shop teams to ensure effective time‑management programmes.Administer requests for practical help confidentially through appropriate channels.Follow van administration procedures as detailed in the Van Drivers' Manuals.Maintain satisfactory compliance with Vision Ireland Retail audits and health & safety audits.Secure vehicles each day and maintain lock protocols.Follow all Vision Ireland Retail policies, including equal opportunities and environmental procedures.Report maintenance or security/safety concerns to the SMC.Follow manual handling guidelines at all times.Carry out all reasonable tasks and requests assigned by the manager or supervisor.QualificationsProven multi‑drop van driving experience.Eligibility to work full‑time in the Republic of Ireland.Good local geographical knowledge.Excellent interpersonal skills.Strong initiative and ability to work independently.Full, clean driver’s licence.Preferred ExperienceExperience working for a not‑for‑profit organisation.Manual handling certification.Benefits & CompensationAnnual salary of €31,000 – €33,000 (dependent on experience), paid monthly.Additional InformationAll candidates must submit a current CV and cover letter outlining motivation to apply.
