Purpose of Role
The Disability Service Coordinator will support the management and effective delivery of Barrog Healthcare Disability Services in Cork.
They will provide direct line management, supervision and leadership for the Service in accordance with the service delivery model.
The role involves oversight of a multi‑agency response, working with partners on behalf of young people and vulnerable adults.
The Coordinator will promote a welcoming, safe, caring environment and support client participation in planning and reviews.

Salary and Employment
Salary: €43,680 per year
Job type: Full time, Permanent
Shifts: Day shifts, Mon – Fri
Working hours: 40 hours per week, Mon to Fri 9 am to 5 pm (some flexibility required)
Location: Barrog office, Cleve Business Park, Monahan Road, and The Cabin at Old Blackrock Road, Co. Cork
Reporting relationship: This post reports to the Disability Community Manager
Probation: 6 months
Vetting: Reference checks, Garda Vetting and security clearance for any residence over 6 months after age 16

Essential Criteria
 * Permission to work in Ireland
 * Relevant qualification in health or social care management or willingness to work towards one
 * Proficient ICT skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
 * Proven experience in a leadership role with demonstrated suitability and management ability for the duties of the office
 * Experience managing people in a fast‑paced health or social care environment
 * Full clean driver’s licence
Desirable Criteria
 * A minimum of 2 years in a management or supervisory role in health or disability

 * Ability to support the client group in a non‑judgemental way with respect at all times
 * High standards of user‑centred service delivery
 * Strong self‑development and staff‑development skills in a busy environment, prioritising caseloads
 * Good understanding of policy, legislation and professional requirements (e.g., Child Care Act 1991, Children First Guidelines, Vulnerable Adults National Policy/Guidelines, HIQA regulations)
 * Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including mediation, conciliation and advocacy, collaboration with colleagues, families, etc.
 * Ability to manage assigned budget and client service budgets
 * Initiative and innovation in identifying areas for service improvement
 * Understanding of HR policy compliance and implementation
 * Person‑centred approach, promoting client participation in decision‑making and service planning
Main Duties / Responsibilities
 * Provide direct line management, supervision and leadership for the service, creating a positive team culture
 * Conduct regular team meetings
 * Provide supervision for staff team
 * Work directly with clients (and families where appropriate) to deliver person‑centred support
 * Build relationships with internal and external teams for efficient service delivery
 * Ensure clear and effective communication within teams
 * Accountability for client responsibilities and follow‑through
 * Keep referral agents fully informed on significant matters relating to service delivery
 * Manage enquiries, complaints and allegations from clients
 * Promote and maintain a welcoming, safe, caring and supportive environment
 * Support client participation in decision‑making and service planning at all levels
 * Recruit and manage staff team (supervision duties)
 * Manage the service project in the absence of the Service Manager
 * Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, national, organisational and local policies
 * Maintain client files, case management structures, risk assessment, safety plans and care plans
 * Ensure a safe, welcoming and friendly environment for all clients
 * Address difficult situations sensitively within organisational policies and procedures
 * Provide support and training for the staff teams
 * Carry out administrative and financial procedures in line with Barrog Healthcare policies
 * Prepare reports, statistics and other information required by management
 * Contribute to policy development and work effectively as part of a team
