Agri Sales Manager.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Commercial and Revenue, this role will have overall responsibility for the activities of the Area Sales teams (Dairy North, Dairy South and the Beef & Tillage team), driving sales and commercial performance and delivering growth in line with the business strategy.
The
Agri Sales Manager
will also be responsible for fostering collaboration across Milling & Retail Operations and Member Advisory Services (milk advisory and sustainability) and Business development, Innovation and Digital.
A key focus of the role is to enhance member contact, operational excellence and ensure the effective execution of strategies, contributing to the overall growth and coherence of the Agri-Commercial function.
Responsibilities for the successful candidate will include:
Drive sales performance across the allocated teams for all relevant product categories, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial targets.
Optimise territory management through robust customer segmentation and collaborative sales planning with Mill & Retail Operations, ensuring timely and effective engagement with existing and potential customers.
Champion innovation and growth by promoting Dairygold-branded products and new farm input technologies that enhance farm productivity and profitability.
Support the delivery of annual budgets, sales, market share, margin, campaigns, and commercial initiatives that improve competitiveness, drive value, and strengthen member relationships.
Track and report on the achievement of sales targets and market share across the sales team
Monitor and evaluate customer facing activity including frequency and quality of farm visits,
Develop and grow an expert advisory service for farm members, aligned with Retail Operations and Member Advisory services.
Drive productivity by streamlining and enhancing processes in collaboration with Milling & Retail Operations and Member advisory.
Build talent and capability in key growth areas such as relationship management, digital tools, and data analytics.
Build an inclusive Agri Sales Team, incorporating branch personnel to support sales drives and promote Society offerings.
Support and lead communications across multiple channels.
Including events, media, discussion groups, and direct engagement with customers and senior stakeholders.
Ensure customer accounts are managed in line with Society credit policy, promoting efficient payment systems and adherence to best practices and cash collection targets
The successful candidate will have:
10+ years relevant experience in a similar role.
A Third level qualification in a relevant discipline
Ability to develop and lead a high performance sales team in an Agri-sales environment.
Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer care, fostering strong, trust-based relationships with account holders to support long term growth.
Results focused with delivery of successful customer segmentation to achieve business goals of sales, margin and cash flow.
Commercially aware with strong business acumen.
Strong Communicator with proven sales coaching and mentoring capability.
Proven ability to drive performance through influence and collaboration.
Cross functional team player with consistent positive leadership behaviours.
A self-starter who excels at planning, organising, implementing and reviewing own and other work and results.
Flexible to pre-empt and handle demands at peak times within the Agri-calendar.
Proactively open to improving productively and streamlining processes.
Proficiency on Microsoft office, all systems and open to new technologies
