About the Role
GES is expanding its engineering team. This client-facing engineering project management role focuses on electrical and Owner's Engineer responsibilities. The successful candidate will take ownership of assigned projects, acting as Owner's Engineer and/or Engineering Project Manager, ensuring technical quality, programme delivery, commercial input, and client satisfaction across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver project scopes in line with agreed timelines, quality standards, and budgets set with the client.
Lead pre‑construction and construction phase projects, reporting directly to the Programme Manager.
Own and manage project programmes, risks, and change control processes.
Support commercial negotiations, variations, and claims from a technical perspective.
Act as the primary point of contact for the client on assigned projects.
Liaise with statutory bodies, acting as the single point of contact with contractors, statutory and non‑statutory bodies such as local authorities, statutory consultees, landowners, and other stakeholders.
Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, collaborating closely with the GES project team and external contractors.
Attend and participate in on‑site meetings with clients and project stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with internal Quality Assurance and Management Systems.
Ensure all activities comply with relevant Irish and UK health and safety legislation.
Support seamless project delivery through effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Additional Responsibilities
Lead and contribute to projects across various stages of the project lifecycle.
Produce and review feasibility reports, technical risk registers, and due diligence outputs suitable for investor and lender review.
Manage technical due diligence and feasibility assessments.
Track and report on project progression.
Provide technical input into commercial evaluations.
Collaborate with colleagues across Galetech Group on cross‑disciplinary and multi‑jurisdictional projects.
Demonstrate the ability and willingness to adopt and learn new software tools.
Support business development activities, including client engagement, bid support, and relationship management.
Identify key technical and grid risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Support transaction timelines through timely and high‑quality technical inputs.
Support wider team during project submissions.
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff.
Skills / Qualifications
Essential
Electrical experience.
3‑6 years’ project management experience.
Proven experience consulting with clients, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.
Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Full, clean driving licence.
Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently.
Ability to review and challenge technical designs and contractor methodologies.
Desirable
Degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
Experience in renewable energy (wind, solar, BESS, grid infrastructure).
Experience in preparing electrical functional specifications.
Contract management experience.
Familiarity with Irish and/or UK grid codes and permitting environments.
