Role Overview
Senior Accountant within the Finance Team based in Limerick. This permanent role will play an integral part within the team and will be responsible for report production, timely issue resolution and providing ad‑hoc support as required. The team is responsible for the production of monthly and quarterly reports, looking at capital and liquidity as well as balance sheets across a range of institutions in Europe, UK and the Middle East.
The successful candidate will work with a variety of operations and other Finance teams to understand the business and ensure that reports accurately reflect the business undertaken, with adherence to requirements and regulatory rules.
Key Responsibilities
Key partner in the production and computation of monthly reporting for a number of entities.
Assess the impact of changes to and expansions in the business, e.g. new product offerings, new territories.
Acts as a key contact for various internal and external contacts with the ability to communicate succinctly and interpret financial results.
Produce reconciliations, ensuring that all documentation is completed in line with corporate requirements and policies.
Recommend and implement process improvements identified in day‑to‑day work.
Perform various analyses to assess the impact of financial strategies on the financial position and operating results of the organization.
Research and resolve complex accounting transactions and reporting issues, where some expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines and/or processes.
Work with various internal and external partners on cross‑function processes or projects providing analytical and procedural representation of the team.
Develop knowledge of the regulatory reporting tools and their configuration.
Collaborate with Finance teams and leaders in other locations.
Skills and Experience
Qualified accountant (preferably ACA / ACCA) with several years of experience in a multi‑currency financial services environment.
Accounting knowledge, acquired through years of corporate or industry experience.
Experience in regulatory and statutory financial reporting with a large organization.
Ability to meet strict deadlines by multi‑tasking and prioritising various assigned deliverables.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in leading or championing new corporate initiatives.
Requires attention to detail and solid documentation techniques.
