Job Description:
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is seeking a Dementia Advisor to provide support and assistance to individuals affected by dementia in Galway and surrounding areas.
As a Dementia Advisor, you will be the primary point of contact for individuals concerned about their cognitive health or with a diagnosis of dementia, as well as their families and friends.
Key Responsibilities:
* Offer practical assistance, support, advice, and signposting to appropriate services and supports.
* Support individuals and their families to navigate the health and social care system.
* Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and community organizations.
Requirements:
* Primary degree or equivalent in a relevant health or social care area.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of dementia and related issues.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong client focus and leadership skills.
* Able to demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.
Benefits:
This is a full-time position (39 hours per week) working on a hybrid basis under a permanent contract. The successful candidate should hold a full clean driving license as the role will involve travel.
