Airfreight Exports Operations SpecialistDHL Global Forwarding (Ireland) LtdCedar DriveMonday–Friday, 9:00–17:30Reports to: Airfreight Operations Team LeadAbout the RoleWe are seeking a highly organised and customer‑focusedAirfreight Exports Operations Specialistto join our Airfreight team. This role is responsible for the end‑to‑end management of export shipments, maintaining strong customer relationships, ensuring full regulatory compliance, and supporting operational excellence across all assigned accounts.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational ManagementEnd‑to‑end ownership of export job files, including opening, rating, invoicing, and closing.Create and confirm transport orders in DCT for timely pickup and delivery.Manage export bookings and coordinate with carriers, suppliers, and overseas stations.Prepare, check, and distribute all required export documentation.Monitor shipments through to POD, ensuring customers receive timely updates.Compliance & QualityEnsure strict adherence to Air Cargo Security, IATA DG, customer SOPs, and DGF operational procedures.Check Known Shipper status, complete security documentation, and maintain accurate job files.Support Good Distribution Practice (GDP) processes for Life Sciences shipments.Ensure compliance with revenue, customs, trade, data protection, and internal DHL policies.Customer Service & CommunicationBuild strong, open, long‑term customer relationships.Respond to network requests within 24 hours.Raise and manage customer complaints through GCCS, ensuring timely resolution.Support Customer Service with incident reporting and exception management.Commercial & Financial ResponsibilitiesMonitor DAP/DDP shipments, ensuring accurate billing and supplementary invoicing where required.Maintain accurate accruals and review SFAR reports weekly.Manage bulk and EDI invoicing, 3rd party billing, and COD processes.Ensure clean month‑end closing for assigned accounts.Continuous ImprovementIdentify performance issues, raise operational irregularities, and support improvement initiatives.Participate in PDs, cross‑training, and training record maintenance.Support implementation of new operational processes and contribute to team development.Skills & CompetenciesCore CompetenciesStrong communication and relationship‑building skillsCustomer‑centric approach with a solution‑driven mindsetHigh attention to detail and accuracyStrong problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis abilityAbility to manage workload, meet deadlines, and follow proceduresTeam‑oriented, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvementTechnical SkillsExtensive knowledge of Airfreight Export operationsProficient in MS OfficeStrong administrative and organisational skillsQualifications & ExperienceProven experience in airfreight export operations (required)Dangerous Goods certification (advantage)Envirotainer training (advantage)Logistics‑related qualification (desirable)Why Join DHL Global Forwarding?As part of the world's leading logistics company, you'll work with supportive colleagues, trusted global processes, and opportunities to develop your skills and career.
