About The Role
HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality & Environment)
* Read and understand the Company's Safety Statement and ensure it is communicated to employees under your control.
* Familiarize yourself with the company's HSQE management systems.
* Stay updated on current statutory HSE legislation or know where to find this information.
* Ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
* Create Method Statements and Risk Assessments for the works.
* Prepare and brief Toolbox talks.
* Report any information affecting health and safety to the Contracts Manager.
* Report unsafe situations observed.
* Carry out work safely, taking precautions near roads or water, and wear necessary protective gear.
* In the absence of the Project Manager/Site Agent, the Senior Site Engineer will assume safety and environmental responsibilities.
* Maintain quality control according to company procedures, method statements, quality plans, and inspection/test plans.
Site Management
* Coordinate with internal teams (planning, construction, design, commercial, HSQE).
* Coordinate with external parties including local authorities and utility providers.
* Understand the project scope thoroughly.
* Review specifications, drawings, and contract documents.
* Conduct setting out, leveling, and surveying per drawings and specifications.
* Prepare labor, plant, and material returns.
* Develop as-built drawings, technical reports, and maintain the site diary.
* Work with the purchasing department to ensure purchase orders meet requirements.
* Requisition materials and equipment.
* Communicate with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and workers.
* Manage daily site activities, supervise labor force and subcontractors.
* Resolve technical issues with stakeholders and authorities.
Planning
* Coordinate with foremen on upcoming works.
* Analyze post-construction data for future planning.
* Assist in creating project budgets.
* Understand contract forms and implications of variations on schedule and costs.
* Monitor program and manage implications of overruns.
* Coordinate with the Project Manager on construction schedules and constraints.
* Organize work efficiently to meet deadlines using plant and site facilities.
About You
Requirements:
* Masters/degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
* Preferably studied modules in Water/Wastewater.
* Member of a relevant Professional Institution.
* Relevant experience through work or volunteer placements, with a commitment to safety and environmental standards.
