Engineering Project Lead

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced project engineer to lead the delivery of engineering projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with all project and business safety and quality goals.
This role will involve scoping new engineering projects, securing capital approval, and leading commissioning and qualification activities for current and future projects.
You will update and influence management and project stakeholders, coordinate specialist trades and departments, and manage project interfaces with other projects and departments.
In addition, you will coordinate project documentation, perform cost estimation, and manage project scheduling. You will also report project progress, manage risks, and conduct constructability, maintainability, and operability studies.
This role requires experience delivering engineering projects within a GMP regulated environment, a third-level qualification in Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Science, and a qualification in Project Management.
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as SAP, LIMs, and/or other business systems, is also required. Additionally, training in 6-Sigma/Kepner-Tregoe or similar problem-solving/decision-making methodologies is beneficial.
As an ideal candidate, you have experience working within an engineering team in a multinational corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the delivery of engineering projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with all project and business safety and quality goals.
* Scope new engineering projects and secure capital approval.
* Lead, support, and participate in commissioning and qualification activities for both current and future projects.
* Update and influence management and project stakeholders.
* Coordinate the participation of specialist trades and departments.
* Coordinate project interfaces with other projects and departments.
* Coordinate project documentation.
* Perform cost estimation (creation, tracking, updating, auditing vs. actual costs, forecasting).
* Manage project scheduling (creation, tracking, updating, review vs. current state, forecasting).
* Report project progress and manage risks.
* Conduct constructability, maintainability, and operability studies.
* Manage project resources.
* Check the current condition of systems (structural, E&I, as well as safety, permitting, and documentation).
* Organize and coordinate project meetings and appointments.
* Provide project-related training as required.
* Conduct retrospective project performance reviews vs. project goals and lessons learned.
* Participate in and lead cross-functional teams as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Third-level qualification in Engineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Science.
* Experience delivering engineering projects within a GMP regulated environment.
* Qualification in Project Management.
* Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
