About the Role
The Management Accountant position is a full-time on-site role responsible for monthly management accounting. This involves financial business partnering, cash flow management, payroll, time and attendance systems, grant applications, and sales support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Month End Accounting: Support and collaborate with bookkeepers to improve finance processes and reporting accuracy. Prepare the monthly retail management accounts and provide senior leadership team members with accurate and timely financial insights.
• Financial Planning and Analysis: Work closely with business leaders to support their finance needs and budget process. Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial models to guide decision-making. Analyze financial performance and variances, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
• Cost Control and Optimisation: Monitor and control costs, ensuring efficiency across operations. Evaluate and manage financial risks, recommending cost-saving measures.
• Internal Controls, Risk Management, and Compliance: Assist in implementing internal control systems, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies. Support the risk management process, working with the accounting manager and finance director.
• Audit, Tax, and Regulatory Filings: Support tax filings as required, including VAT, corporation tax, company secretarial, and other statutory filings. Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors as needed.
• Process Improvements/Projects: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve financial reporting accuracy and timeliness. Support initiatives to drive revenue growth and implement cost savings.
Requirements
We are seeking a qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent) with advanced stage exams completed or a commitment to complete exams to attain qualification. Key skills include bank reconciliations, month-end accounts payable, and ability to work under pressure.
