About the Role We are seeking a Payroll and Accounts Assistant to join our finance team.

Job Purpose:
To support the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with general accounting duties.
This role will also include providing cover for payroll processing during absences or peak periods.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Support
· Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and general ledger postings.
· Bank, cash and credit card reconciliations.
· Revenue Auditing: Conduct daily revenue audits to maintain compliance and accuracy.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
· Cross-Functional Support: Provide holiday and peak period cover for other finance roles and assist with ad hoc reporting and project work.
Payroll Cover
· Provide cover and support for payroll processing during periods of absence or increased workload.
· Ensure timesheets, overtime, and leave records are accurately recorded.
· Assist in preparing and checking payroll data for submission.
· Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection requirements.
· Handle employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
General Duties
· Maintain organised filing systems (electronic and paper).
· Support the finance team in continuous improvement of processes and systems.
· Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders as required.
· Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by management.
Skills and Experience Required:
· Previous experience in an accounting or finance assistant role.
· Basic understanding of payroll processes (experience with Sage and Alkimii) desirable.
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
· Confidentiality and integrity when handling sensitive information.
Qualifications:
· AAT qualification (or working towards) preferred, or equivalent experience.
· Payroll or bookkeeping certification desirable but not essential.
