Overview
Location: Naas Road, Newlands Cross
As Deputy General Manager, you will play a key leadership role across the hotel with a strong focus on Food & Beverage operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will be hands-on, proactive, and passionate about standards, people, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support the daily operation of all F&B outlets (restaurant, bar, banqueting, conference, and events).
* Ensure smooth service delivery, staff readiness, and guest satisfaction across all service periods.
* Work closely with the Head Chef and F&B Manager to uphold high standards in food quality, service, hygiene, and presentation.
* Inspire, lead, and manage departmental heads and supervisors with a focus on training, performance, and engagement.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing development of F&B and operational teams.
* Promote a positive work culture and strong internal communication.
* Work with the GM and Financial Controller to manage departmental budgets and labour costs.
* Monitor and improve profitability, wastage, and margin control in F&B areas.
* Support delivery of revenue targets through upselling, promotions, and service enhancements.
* Consistently deliver high guest satisfaction by actively engaging with guests and resolving issues promptly.
* Conduct regular floor walks, standards checks, and service audits.
* Uphold compliance with all health, safety, licensing, and HACCP regulations.
* Act as a deputy to the General Manager and assume full responsibility in their absence.
* Contribute to business planning, innovation, and service improvement initiatives.
* Be a visible leader during peak times, events, and hotel-wide operations.
Qualifications
* Required Criteria: Leadership experience in Food & Beverage operations within a hotel or similar hospitality setting; strong focus on guest experience, service quality, and team development.
* Desired Criteria: Experience managing budgets, cost control, and revenue initiatives in F&B.
