Senior Manager, Procurement – Biologics Category
Global Innovative Medicine (IM) Supply Chain Procurement team – hybrid location: Titusville, New Jersey; Cork, Ireland; or Zug, Switzerland.
Responsible for the global procurement of biologics direct materials used in large molecule drug substance manufacturing. Lead the process and governance required to ensure biologics material resiliency of the R&D pipeline, build strong relationships with key suppliers, sites, and technical teams, and measure success across financial performance, delivery performance, service, category strategy, and compliance adherence.
Key Responsibilities

Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): lead SRM process with senior executive level suppliers, performance management, reliability improvement, and value creation.
Sourcing: execute category strategies with stakeholders to reduce total costs and improve quality, service, and business value.
Contracting: manage complex contract approval, administration, and compliance to maximize financial and operational performance and minimize risk.
Category Strategy: develop and drive vision, strategy, and implementation plan in collaboration with internal partners.
Business Engagement: manage business needs and expectations, drive satisfaction, and lead cross‑functional teams to improve reliability.
Procurement Strategy & Enablement: maintain strategic direction, align to goals, and manage enabling tools and technology.
R&D Engagement: identify needs of NPI pipeline, ensure material choice resiliency, and deploy governance for execution.

Qualifications
Education

Minimum Bachelor’s/University degree; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Advanced degree focused in Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field desirable.
Certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, PMP or equivalent helpful.

Experience & Skills

Minimum 8 years relevant work experience in procurement and/or supply chain.
Experience in strategic procurement, sourcing, category, and/or supplier management.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with influence across all levels.
Strong business and financial acumen for business case creation and value delivery.
Demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness to external changes and internal transitions.

Preferred

Proficiency in supplier performance, supply market analysis, cost modeling, category management, procurement strategy, and procurement excellence.
Creative problem‑solving to develop innovative procurement solutions.
Knowledge of complex biologics (e.g., resins or media) and large molecule drug substance manufacturing industry.
Experience in a highly complex and global environment.
Experience with end‑to‑end supply chain initiatives, digital tools, technology adoption, and resiliency.
People management experience (direct or indirect reports).
Credibility with internal customers and supplier community.

Other

May require up to 15% domestic or international travel.
Requires onsite work minimum 3 days per week; option for 2 remote days per week.

Pay
Anticipated base pay range: $122,000.00 – $212,750.00.
Eligible participation in company retirement plan (401(k)), long‑term incentive program, and other financial benefits per plan terms.
Benefits

Vacation – 120 hours per calendar year.
Sick time – 40 hours per calendar year (48 hours for Colorado residents, 56 hours for Washington residents).
Holiday pay – 13 days per calendar year (incl. floating holidays).
Work, personal and family time – up to 40 hours per calendar year.
Parental leave – 480 hours within one year of birth/adoption/foster care.
Bereavement leave – 240 hours for immediate family; 40 hours for extended family per year.
Caregiver leave – 80 hours in a 52‑week rolling period.
Volunteer leave – 32 hours per calendar year.
Military spouse time‑off – 80 hours per calendar year.
