As a senior member of the Construction Team, the CSA Construction Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the proper and timely construction in line with Safety, Quality, and Design standards, while also overseeing budget and contract requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Construction Duties/Responsibilities
Review & Liaison: Collaborate with design teams and client workgroups; lead model reviews.
Constructability Reviews: Lead constructability reviews across all aspects of the build.
Scope & Procurement: Prepare detailed SOWs for trade contract procurement and assist in preparing detailed BOQs.
Bid & Vendor Management: Review returned CSA bids and prepare TBA.
Industry Knowledge: Stay abreast of developments in the construction industry.
Execution Strategy Development: Contribute to the development of execution strategies for the project.
Documentation & Standards: Provide input into CHSP, QA/TO, and other General Construction Requirement documentation.
Schedule & Planning: Assist in schedule development, reviews, and lead IAPs.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Team Resourcing: Ensure adequate personnel, tools, plant, and resources are available for construction phase.
Subcontractor Management: Focus on Safety, Schedule, Cost, and Quality deliverables for subcontractors.
SOP Development: Develop best-in-class site execution SOPs for Field Supervisors.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety, quality assurance, personnel, and industrial relations standards; report deficiencies and propose solutions.
Legal & Statutory Requirements: Ensure statutory and legal compliance throughout the construction process.
Health & Safety: Understand and adhere to Health and Safety at Work Act regulations.
Project Delivery: Ensure projects are built according to drawings, specifications, applicable standards, on schedule, and within budget.
People Management: Direct and control activities of assigned staff, conducting assessments and appraisals as per company standards.
Training Needs: Determine supervisor training needs for proper execution and provide recommendations.
Technology & Innovation: Ensure the use of best technology and encourage innovative ideas.
Lessons Learned: Record and share lessons learned from projects for future improvements.
Labour Relations: Ensure all labour relations matters comply with agreements and policies.
Supervision
Manage and supervise all Site CSA Staff, including construction superintendents, trade supervisors, and subcontractors.
Qualifications & Skills
Degree: Qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience: Significant years of experience in a similar role within biotech/pharma projects.
Knowledge: Strong multi-disciplinary knowledge in construction and relevant industry standards.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
People Management: Strong leadership skills with experience managing large teams.
