Project Management Director - Major Projects (any Ramboll UK&I office) Project Management Director - Major ProjectsAny Ramboll UK&I officeAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Project Management Director - Major Projects to lead the successful delivery of complex, high-value infrastructure schemes across the UK (and occasionally internationally). This role is ideally suited to a senior construction or engineering professional with a strong background in regulated or nationally significant infrastructure projects, and Development Consent Order (DCO) experience being an advantage.You will be accountable for the leadership of large, multidisciplinary project teams and the end-to-end delivery of major capital and design-led projects, from early concept and consenting through detailed design, construction and handover. You will also play a key role in client engagement, governance, and business development, contributing to the continued growth of the organisation.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and deliver major, complex infrastructure projects from inception to completion.Provide overall accountability for project performance, including safety, programme, cost, quality, risk and change controlAct as the client's senior representative, managing relationships with clients, regulators, statutory bodies and key stakeholdersLead and coordinate large multi-disciplinary teams, including internal resources, consultants, contractors and supply chain partnersPlan and manage design stages, ensuring the production and delivery of high quality, safe and compliant design solutionsOversee procurement strategies and contract management (e.g. NEC, ICE, FIDIC, Design & Build)Champion health, safety, environmental, sustainability and customer outcomes, embedding best practice across projectsPrepare and present governance reports, monthly progress updates and financial forecasts to senior leadership and clientsUndertake project and programme reviews to drive continuous improvement and lessons learnedSupport and lead business development activities, including client engagement, bid leadership and preparation of winning proposalsContribute to the professional development of the wider team and the strategic growth of the businessSectors & Project TypesExperience in one or more of the following sectors is highly desirable:Civil Engineering / Energy InfrastructureHighways & TransportationAviationRailSkills, Experience & AttributesProven track record delivering large scale, complex construction and/or design led infrastructure projectsUnderstanding of DCO processes and/or consented infrastructure environments would be an advantage.Extensive experience in project, financial, programme and resource management, including multi million pound budgets or feesExperience managing and directing large project teams (often 100+ people), both insourced and outsourcedStrong project controls capability, with confidence using data and analysis to drive decision makingExceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels in both matrix and non matrix environmentsHighly collaborative, curious and confident leader, capable of driving change and continuous improvementDemonstrable experience delivering to demanding schedules, targets and quality standardsBusiness development capability, including leading bids and writing winning proposalsQualificationsDegree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related disciplineChartered Engineer or equivalent (e.g. ICE, APM, CIOB, RICS, PMP)Member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. ICE)What we can offer youCommitment to your developmentLeaders guided by our Leadership PrinciplesA culture that welcomes you as the unique person you areInspiration from colleagues, clients, and projectsThe long term thinking of a foundation owned companyFlexible work environment27 days annual leave plus bank holidaysMatched pension contributionsPrivate medical cover and life assuranceReady to join us?Please submit your application and CV online.
