WeareseekingaDirectorofEMEAGovernmentRelationstoleadourgovernmentrelationsactivitywithinEurope,theMiddleEast,andAfrica.UnderthedirectionoftheVicePresidentofGlobalGovernmentRelations,thesuccessfulcandidatewilldevelopandimplementstrategiestoadvocateforfavorablepolicies,ensureregulatorycomplianceandmaintainthecompany’spositiveimageacrossdiversepoliticallandscapesinsupportofrevenuegenerationforPublicSectorsalesinEMEA.Thishigh-stakesroleisidealforadiplomatic,strategicthinkerwithdeepknowledgeoftheEMEAregion’spoliticalandregulatoryframeworks.TheGRfunctionispartoftheNetApplegaldepartment,andthispositionreportstoNetApp’sVicePresidentofGlobalGovernmentRelations.

Key Responsibilities
* GovernmentRelationsStrategy:Developandexecutecomprehensivegovernmentrelationsstrategiesthatsupportthecompany'sbusinessobjectivesintheEMEAregion.
* PolicyAnalysisandAdvocacy:Monitorandanalyzeregulatoryproposalsandpoliticaltrends,advisingcompanyleadershiponpotentialimpacts.Advocateforpolicypositionsbeneficialtotheorganizationanditsstakeholders.
* StakeholderEngagement:Establishandnurturerelationshipswithgovernmentofficials,regulatoryagencies,tradeassociations,andotherkeyinfluencersintheEMEApoliticalenvironment.
* IssueManagement:Proactivelyidentifyissuesthatcouldimpactthecompanyandleadtheresponsestrategytominimizerisks.Coordinatewithlegalandcomplianceteamstoensureadherencetoallapplicablelawsandregulations.
* Cross-FunctionalCollaboration:WorkcollaborativelywithinternalteamssuchasPublicAffairs,Legal,Compliance,andBusinessUnitstointegrategovernmentrelationsactivitieswithbroadercompanystrategies.
* InfluencerNetworkDevelopment:Utilizeandfurtherbuildhis/herexistingnetworkwithothertechnologyfirms,non-governmentalorganizations,andthoughtleaderstoshapepublicpolicydebatesinlinewiththecompany'sinterests.
* Communications:Craftmessagingandpositionstatementsonpolicyissues,preparingbriefingmaterialsforexecutiveleadershipandrepresentingthecompanyatpubliceventsasrequired.
* CrisisManagement:Providecounselongovernmentalmattersduringanyreputationalorregulatorycrisis,ensuringswiftandappropriateresponses.
Job Requirements
* Experience:Minimumof10-15yearsofrelatedexperienceingovernmentrelationsorpublicaffairs,withaproventrackrecordofsuccessasaseniorgovernmentrelationsprofessionalintheEMEAregion.Experienceinthetechnologysectorishighlyregarded.
* Knowledge:ComprehensiveunderstandingofEMEAgovernmentalprocesses,regulatoryenvironments,andgeopoliticalfactorsinfluencingpublicpolicy.
* LanguageSkills:FluencyinEnglish;additionallanguageproficiencyinoneormoreotherlanguagesintheEMEAregionishighlydesirable.
* Communication:Exceptionalverbalandwrittencommunicationskills,withtheabilitytosimplifycomplexregulatorylanguageandcommunicateconvincinglytoavarietyofaudiences;experienceinpublicspeakerinfrontoflargeaudiences,seniorexecutivesandgovernmentofficials.
Education
