Assistant Staff Officer HRIS (Human Resources) Dublin, Ireland Full-time | Fixed-term contract (until 31 October 2026) Fluent English This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy Human Resources & Payroll team within a leading higher education environment.
The successful candidate will provide a high-quality, professional HR advisory and administrative support service to staff, while also contributing to HR systems management and strategic initiatives.
Working closely with the Head of HR & Staff Development, you will support policy development, HR project delivery, and the implementation of organisational strategies during a period of significant growth and change.
Key Details Salary: €39,100 (entry point of Grade IV scale) Location: Dublin 8 (hybrid typically 2 days onsite, remainder remote) Working Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday Friday) Annual Leave: 23 days (pro-rata), plus public holidays Key Responsibilities Deliver an efficient and professional HR service with a strong focus on HR systems (Core HR) data management Support payroll processes, including gathering and tracking payroll-related changes Maintain and update HR databases and employee records Assist with onboarding and induction processes for new hires Monitor employee contracts, renewals, and variations Coordinate leave and absence records, including maternity and sick leave cases Support employee exit processes and documentation Prepare HR documentation and manage data requests for audits Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ensure compliance with GDPR and maintain accurate HR records Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and service delivery Ideal candidate Essential Relevant qualification (NFQ Level 6 or higher) or equivalent experience Strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Google Workspace) Experience working with systems (data input, reporting, analysis) Proven experience in high-volume administrative roles Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and improve operational processes Strong customer service focus in a complex organisation Desirable Payroll knowledge Experience with HR Information Systems (ideally Core HR) Knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation Experience in higher education or the public sector Please submit your CV to Anne Marie in Lex Consultancy Please note only candidates that match the minimum job requirements above will be contacted for this role.
