Role Purpose
The Electrical Turnover Lead is responsible for managing the turnover process of electrical systems and packages from construction to commissioning and final handover on large-scale pharmaceutical or life sciences projects. This role ensures all electrical works are completed to GMP, EHS, and regulatory standards, fully documented, and in compliance with client specifications and industry best practices.
You will coordinate between construction, commissioning, quality, and client teams to achieve a smooth and compliant turnover of electrical systems, including process equipment power supply, cleanroom systems, critical utilities, and building services.
Electrical Turnover Lead Responsibilities
Turnover & Handover Management:
* Lead the turnover process for electrical systems/packages, from construction completion through pre-commissioning, commissioning, and final client handover.
* Define turnover strategy, plans, and schedules in alignment with the overall project schedule and milestones.
* Ensure all punch list items are resolved before turnover.
Documentation & Compliance
* Compile and validate Turnover Dossiers including as-built drawings, test records, inspection checklists, and certifications.
* Ensure compliance with relevant pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
* Maintain accurate progress tracking using turnover management tools (e.g., MCPlus, WinPCS, or equivalent).
Technical Oversight
* Review and validate electrical installation quality against design, specifications, and electrical standards (IEC, IS, NEC as applicable).
* Manage completion of FAT, SAT, loop checks, insulation resistance tests, and other verification activities.
* Oversee energisation readiness and safe switching procedures.
Stakeholder Coordination
* Liaise with construction managers, commissioning leads, QA/QC, validation teams, and client representatives.
* Facilitate turnover readiness meetings and package walkdowns with stakeholders.
* Coordinate with procurement and materials teams to ensure timely delivery of electrical equipment and components.
Leadership & Mentoring
* Provide technical leadership to electrical supervisors and turnover engineers.
* Support training and onboarding for project staff on turnover systems and GMP documentation requirements.
Necessary requirement of the Electrical Turnover Lead
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
* Electrical trade qualification with extensive project experience will be considered.
Professional Experience:
* 7+ years in electrical construction/commissioning within pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences
* Proven track record managing turnover of electrical systems on GMP-compliant projects.
* Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, MCCs, UPS, emergency power, and cleanroom electrical fit-out.
* Experience with turnover software systems and digital documentation control.
Knowledge & Skills:
* Familiarity with ATEX, hazardous area classification, and electrical safety standards.
* Strong leadership, problem-solving, and cross-discipline coordination skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
