Brightflag is looking for an IT Operations Automation Engineer to build automation, improve internal tooling, and provide hands‑on infrastructure and endpoint support from our Dublin office.
Brightflag is integrating with Wolters Kluwer, which means the opportunity to shape how internal systems and operations work here is open. In the near term, you'll help move that integration forward. Longer term, the automation and tooling you build will set the standard.
You'll work across infrastructure, product support, and engineering teams to find operational pain points and build automation that eliminates repetitive work—whether that means supporting enterprise IT and SaaS systems, streamlining product operations, or improving the engineering environment. What sets this role apart is caring about what's slowing people down, and having the engineering chops to build solutions that are well‑architected, secure, and built to last.
What You Will Be Doing
Provide hands‑on endpoint and hardware support for onboarding/offboarding and office infrastructure in Dublin
Work with endpoint provisioning, including MDM enrollment and Autopilot processes
Build automations, internal tools, and workflows that reduce manual effort across infrastructure, product support, and engineering teams
Wire internal systems together using APIs, scripting, and third‑party services
Find recurring pain points and build self‑serve capabilities that reduce ticket volume and unblock teams
Coordinate with parent company Workplace Technology on device management, identity, and infrastructure operations
Maintain and improve operational documentation, processes, and knowledge base articles
Support technical compliance processes and audits as needed
Collaborate with Security and Information Security on best practice
Skills & Experience
To be successful in the role, you need:
5+ years experience in IT operations engineering, systems engineering, or infrastructure automation
Strong scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar)Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid identity environments (Active Directory, Entra ID, SSO)
Experience supporting Mac and Windows environments
Hands‑on experience with M365 or Google Workspace
Experience with SaaS systems, user management, and SSO
Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking (routing, firewalls, VPNs)
Ability to work independently, prioritize based on business impact, and keep stakeholders informed
Strong communication skills and a genuine focus on end user experience
The following are a bonus!
A general‑purpose programming language (Java, Python, Go, or similar)
SQL databases and RESTful APIs
Version control (Git)
MDM platforms (Intune, Addigy, JumpCloud, or similar)
Experience building internal tools or no‑code/low‑code solutions
Background in escalation engineering or application support
ITIL, SOC2, ISO27001, or change management experience
