We are now recruiting for an Accounting Manager (Hybrid) - for a permanent role in our Dublin Office.


JOB PURPOSE

SMC Logistics (SMCL) is a large complex entity within the Sandvik Group (Business Area: Mining) with a wide variety of reporting, internal control, compliance and tax obligations. It is engaged in the procurement and sale of tools and spare parts for mining and construction equipment to group companies and operates through warehouses in a number of countries worldwide.

This role is a leadership position within the SMCL finance team with overall management of all accounting activities; primarily focused on reporting, forecasting, control, compliance and stakeholder management in addition to leading a team of accountants.

This role will be responsible for leading and supporting the overall work of the Accounting team and driving finance and business process improvements to support increased accuracy and efficiency in Divisional financial reporting.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

* Other ad hoc duties as requested by management.
* Lead and manage all month end reporting and forecasting activities ensuring the financial results and financial processes are accurate and transparent to SMCL stakeholders.
* Management of a team of four accountants including performance management, development, retention, motivation, recruitment and onboarding to support the team to achieve their full potential.
* Review, approve and file local GAAP financial reporting and other regulatory reports.
* Coordinate and support the local statutory audit.
* Validate that internal controls are implemented and operational and ensuring financial and business risks are identified and mitigated.
* Ensure compliance with Group and BA Mining Finance policies and procedures.
* Provides support to the Business Area, Divisions, and operational teams in accounting processes, ensuring transparency of costs.
* Ensure close working relationship with all other Finance team members and other stakeholders in SMCL to manage ongoing activities and mitigate risks.
* Lead discussions with Divisional stakeholders, supporting the needs of the business to facilitate decision making.
* Identify efficiencies and drive implementation of automated ways of working and continuous improvements.
* Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the Accounting team.
* Actively engage with key SMCL stakeholders, promoting strong and positive working relationships.
* Participate in Business Area finance initiatives, providing input to the Business Area throughout all phases of the development of new/changing Business Area financial policy.
* Other ad hoc duties as requested by management.


Experience

* 5+ years relevant work experience in Finance and Accounting, of which at least two years in a people management position, preferably in a large global company.


Education, Licenses & Certificates

* University degree in Business / Finance.
* Qualified Accountant – ACA or ACCA qualification
* Knowledge of SAP preferred
