Quantity Surveyor is a senior-level position that involves overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying for assigned residential projects. The role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
* Senior Level: Develop, maintain, and manage project budgets and cost plans, prepare and negotiate bills of quantities, tenders, and contracts, manage and monitor sub-contractor pricing and variations, review and approve sub-contractor claims and invoices, provide cost advice and reports throughout the project lifecycle, and oversee the work of a junior QS (if applicable).
* Intermediate Level (working alongside a Senior QS): Assist with the development and maintenance of project budgets and cost plans, support the preparation and negotiation of bills of quantities, tenders, and contracts, assist with the management and monitoring of sub-contractor pricing and variations, assist with the review and approval of sub-contractor claims and invoices, and gain experience in all aspects of residential project quantity surveying.
Requirements:
* Senior Level: Minimum 7 years' experience working as a Project QS for a house builder or main contractor, proven track record of successfully delivering residential projects on time and within budget, excellent understanding of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost control techniques, and experience using relevant Quantity Surveying software is highly desirable.
* Intermediate Level: 2-4 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying role or similar environment, strong understanding of construction principles and cost management practices, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
This role is ideally suited for someone based within an easy commute of Kildare area, as frequent site visits will be required.
