Donegal Famine Heritage Centre (Dunfanaghy) CLG, trading as ‘The Workhouse’, is a multi-purpose community, cultural, arts and heritage exhibition centre located in the town of Dunfanaghy, Co. Donegal. The Board of ‘The Workhouse’ is seeking to appoint a Heritage & Community Officer to support the implementation of a new Social Enterprise Business and Development Plan which will see the facility become a ‘flagship’ cultural heritage and creative arts visitor experience on the Wild Atlantic Way. This role will be co-funded under the Community Services Programme (subject to POBAL funding) and will be based at ‘The Workhouse’ in Dunfanaghy.
Key aspects of the role include:
* Co-ordinating, planning and implementing a range of community activities at The Workhouse
* Engagement with community groups in relation to the heritage and culture of The Workhouse
* Assist in relation to the daily operations of the Workhouse including operation of the tours, shop, café and related administration
* Note: In line with the guidelines for the CSP Programme, applications for this position are being sought from persons who are, or who will be, in receipt of a payment from the Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection prior to taking up the position.
Heritage & Community Officer Salary €30,000 (gross) per annum
