We are seeking a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to join our dedicated healthcare team in Navan, County Meath. This is a long-term position primarily based on a general medical ward, with occasional cover required on the neuro-rehabilitation ward.
The ideal candidate will have experience in an acute hospital setting, though this is not essential, as full training and support will be provided. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team environment while delivering high-quality care to patients.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
* Assisting patients with therapeutic activities and exercises as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
* Supporting patients with mobility, transfers, and functional activities to promote independence.
* Preparing and maintaining equipment and treatment areas to ensure a safe and effective working environment.
* Monitoring patient progress, documenting observations, and reporting back to the Occupational Therapist.
* Providing education and advice to patients and their families on techniques to support rehabilitation and recovery.
Requirements
* Previous experience in an acute hospital setting is desirable but not essential.
* QQI Level 5 (or equivalent) in Healthcare Support, Therapy Assistant, or related area.
* A compassionate, patient-focused approach to care.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Ability to follow treatment plans and instructions accurately.
