Purpose of the Role This position provides both clinical and managerial leadership to the nursing team within St. Gabriel's Neurosurgical Ward, ensuring the delivery of compassionate, expert-level care to children undergoing complex neurosurgical procedures and participating in acute neuro-rehabilitation.
The role contributes to the safe, effective, and efficient management of the ward, operating within allocated resources and assuming delegated responsibility in the absence of the CNM2.
It supports the coordination of multidisciplinary care and fosters a culture of clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
The CNM I will safeguard the provision of high standards of quality care to children and their families consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategic plan of the hospital.
In carrying out these duties, confidentiality surrounding the child's admission and treatment must be always maintained.
Essential Criteria: Be registered on the Children's Division and/or the General Division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in Neurosurgical Nursing Evidence of ongoing education / continuous professional development.
Have proven clinical and managerial ability, leadership, communication and organisational skills.
