Role Summary
The Financial Controller will lead the finance function, ensuring robust financial governance, accurate reporting, and strategic financial planning. This role is central to supporting operational efficiency and sustainable growth in a fast-paced catering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
* Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
* Ensure compliance with Irish tax laws and financial regulations.
Budgeting & Forecasting
* Lead the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
* Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decisions.
* Monitor performance against budget and report variances.
Cash Flow & Treasury
* Manage cash flow and working capital.
* Liaise with banks and financial institutions.
* Oversee treasury functions and investment planning.
Internal Controls & Compliance
* Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
* Ensure strong internal controls and audit readiness.
* Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
Team Leadership
* Manage and mentor the finance team.
* Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Operational Support
* Partner with catering operations to assess financial impact of decisions.
* Support pricing strategies, cost control initiatives, and margin improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
* Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience, ideally in catering, hospitality, or FMCG.
* Strong understanding of Irish financial regulations and VAT.
* Experience with financial systems (e.g., Sage, SAP, QuickBooks).
* Proven leadership and team management skills.
