AutoCAD Technician – EV InfrastructureRole OverviewThe AutoCAD Technician will play a key role in producing the technical drawings, layouts, and visual content required to design and deliver EV charging infrastructure projects. This position supports the end-to-end design process ensuring all drawings are accurate, consistent, and aligned with internal standards.Working closely with the Design Lead, Operations, and external partners, the technician will maintain drawing libraries, create layout plans, support signage design, and help streamline visual outputs for site design.Key Responsibilities1. Technical Drawing & Site Layout ProductionProduce detailed 2D site layout drawings for EV charging installations using AutoCAD.Prepare plan views, elevations, sections, and equipment placement drawings.Develop 3D or visual renderings (if skilled) to support internal decision making and stakeholder presentations.Maintain and update CAD blocks, design templates, and title sheets.2. Feasibility & Design SupportTranslate survey data, site photos, and measurements into accurate technical drawings.Assist the Design Lead in preparing feasibility packs, including indicative layouts and constraints mapping.Incorporate data insights (e.g., power availability, access routes, mobility patterns) into design visuals when required.4. Drawing Management & StandardsEnsure all drawings are version controlled, properly filed, and compliant with internal standards.Support the creation and continual improvement of EV infrastructure drawing standards.Manage drawing updates throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring Operations and contractors have accurate information.5. Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with Project Managers, Operations, Sales, and Marketing to ensure drawings meet functional and branding needs.Support external contractors (e.g., signage partners, shelter providers) by supplying accurate drawings when required.Skills & Experience RequiredEssentialStrong proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop.Experience producing technical drawings for construction, infrastructure, utilities, transport, or similar sectors.Ability to interpret survey data, measurements, and site photographs to create accurate layouts.Strong attention to detail and excellent organisation/document control skills.Ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously.DesirableExperience with EV charging infrastructure, electrical layouts, or civil/transport design.Experience producing signage drawings or working with brand guidelines.Basic understanding of planning considerations, accessibility requirements, and traffic flow principles.
