Position: ECCE & Afterschool Educator (Maternity Leave Cover)
Location: (SALI Childcare, Mercy Primary School, St Francis Street, Galway City)
Contract Duration: January 5th, **** – July 31st, **** (with the possibility of extension)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8 hours per day on a roster basis between 8am – 6pm)
About the Role
We are a very busy and well-established early years service seeking a motivated and passionate ECCE & Afterschool Educator to cover a maternity leave contract.
The successful candidate will work in our ECCE Room until 1:30pm, where the environment is well-organised and the children are happy and settled.
Each day after 1:30pm, the role continues with our Junior and Senior Infant Afterschool group.
Our ECCE room educators thrive on teamwork, communication, and consistency, which can be clearly seen in the smooth daily routines and the children's ongoing progress.
We are looking for someone who can bring enthusiasm, flexibility, and professionalism to the team.
Key Requirements
Minimum QQI Level 6 Qualification in Early Years Care and Education.
At least 2 years' experience working in an ECCE room and with children with additional needs (essential).
Strong ability to implement a play-based, emergent curriculum.
Excellent knowledge and practical experience of Aistear, Siolta, and Tusla Quality and Regulatory Framework (QRF).
Ability to maintain a high standard of quality and compliance with the Child Care Act **** (Early Years Services) Regulations ****.
A strong team player who can also use their own initiative when needed.
Excellent spoken communication skills and confidence when engaging with parents, colleagues, and outside agencies.
