Finance & Credit Control Officer - Malahide & District Credit UnionJOB TITLE: Finance & Credit Control OfficerCREDIT UNION: Malahide & District Credit Union LimitedREPORTING TO: ManagerSALARY: To be agreed after interview based on previous work experience and qualificationsOFFICE BASED ROLE: Full Time Contract – 37.5 Hours per weekCLOSING DATE: 7th JanuaryGeneral Scope Of RoleThe Finance Officer will be accountable to the Manager / Board of Directors of the credit union for the control of all areas of financial management.Main Purpose Of The JobReporting directly to the Manager, the Finance Officer's key areas of responsibility are:Finance and Credit ControlManage the finance function.Credit Control & Debt management.Ensure fully documented internal control procedures are in place.Bank reconciliation and managing daily accounts.Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements regarding investments.Contributes to the development and implementation of policies, and procedures.Management TeamWork as part of the management team to develop the credit union going forward.Participate in credit union policy review process, where appropriate.Contribute to the preparation of the financial projections.Consult with our External Risk and Compliance officer and resolve actions.Consult with our Internal and External Auditors and prepare documents for review.Main DutiesPreparation of Financial Reports:Preparation of Monthly Management accounts for board meetings and year end accounts for board and external auditorsOversee preparation of financial/management accounts on an ongoing basis to ensure accurate recording and timely balancing of the audit process.Consult with both Internal and External Auditors in providing explanation and information as requested to ensure timely completion of the audit process.Timely completion of quarterly and annual returns to the Registrar and other reports and / or returns as requested by management.Consult with Revenue and completion of necessary returns (Payroll-related returns but also need to file DIRT Returns on a quarterly and annual basis)Management Information ReportsEnsure the running of all month and year end programs and where appropriate presentation of subsequently produced reports to management.Retention of records falling within the areas of responsibility in compliance with current legislation.GeneralSupport management in the implementation of board policies and directives.Maintain a detailed fixed asset register which includes IT assets.To attend training programs and workshops as required by the credit union.To attend and contribute to meetings of such committees as may be directed by the Manager and the board of directors.To undertake such other reasonable and lawful duties as may be directed from time to time by the manager.Record keeping, Maintain accurate records of all transactions and communication with members.Desirable QualificationsA recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA,) Membership of a professional accounting body in IrelandWorking towards APA Loans / QFAPlease apply by email giving details of your suitability for this position in a cover letter and attaching an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae.
