Key Responsibilities as Project Design Manager

1. Liaise with consultants and architects to manage design coordination, information, and technical submissions involved in the project.
2. Compile and implement the Project Execution Plan, with specific reference to the HSE & Quality plan.
3. Prepare contract reports and, with the Quantity Surveyor, provide updates for monthly cost meetings.
4. Review buildability and identify methods of construction that offer commercial or programme advantages.
5. Plan, organize, and direct activities related to the construction of structures, facilities, and systems.
6. Develop project plans and schedules, executing them to achieve desired outcomes.
7. Coordinate project activities in accordance with the company's Quality System, Standard Procedures, and Engineering Specifications.
8. Manage the full lifecycle of projects from initiation to hand-over.
9. Meet objectives related to timely delivery, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
10. Ensure a 'right first time' philosophy throughout the project lifecycle.
11. Lead the successful delivery of projects through leadership, management, and technical expertise.
12. Manage day-to-day site operations of subcontractors, ensuring alignment with the project program.
13. Attend regular meetings with clients, architects, and consultants, providing progress updates.
14. Oversee quality control, safety matters, and BCAR coordination on site.
15. Handle technical queries and interface with clients, consultants, and architects regarding RFIs.


Qualifications/Experience

* Degree in Civil, Structural, or Construction Management Engineering.
* Experience ideally within a main or specialist contractor.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Team player capable of building effective relationships at all levels.
* Strong industry knowledge and project execution skills.
* Proficient with MS Office, project management, or similar scheduling software.
* Knowledge of safety and quality management systems.
* Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate staff.
