The initial focus will be on enabling projects, requiring close collaboration with our partner. Overview
Reporting to the IT Transformation Manager, the IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for maintaining the data centre infrastructure and collaborating with a managed service provider for Tirlán’s data centres and server infrastructure. The role includes overseeing the work performed and managing operational aspects of the managed service provider relationship.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work closely with the managed services provider to set up, configure, and maintain hardware and software components within the data centre, such as servers, storage, and operating systems.
2. Oversee the core components of the Microsoft IT Infrastructure, such as Active Directory and related services, ensuring security, availability, performance, and timely resolution of technical issues.
3. Manage routine maintenance tasks and upgrades performed by managed service providers on central IT infrastructure, in accordance with security policies and controls.
4. Ensure the data centre and IT infrastructure comply with security standards and industry regulations; develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
5. Collaborate with other IT teams and business stakeholders to support new initiatives and projects.
6. Participate in incident management related to data centres and IT infrastructure, liaising with service management, the managed service partner, and application teams.
7. Contribute to the development of strategies for Tirlán’s Central IT Infrastructure.
Key Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. 8-10 years of experience in Microsoft IT Infrastructure or similar areas.
3. Familiarity with IT infrastructure services such as Microsoft Active Directory.
4. Proven experience working with managed service providers managing data centres and IT infrastructure.
5. Knowledge of security standards and best practices, including ISO 27001 and NIST.
6. Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware.
7. Technical knowledge of server hardware, operating systems, and storage technologies.
8. Understanding of data backup and disaster recovery processes.
9. Networking experience is advantageous.
10. Experience with Cloud Services is desirable.
11. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
12. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
13. Strong team player with a growth mindset.
