Job Description
As a Senior Site Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the execution of projects within our Cork region. Your primary focus will be on managing projects efficiently, ensuring all competing factors are minimized and that safety remains the top priority.
You will manage a safe workforce, including direct staff and subcontractors, while fostering effective relationships with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project. Driving the project forward by anticipating requirements is essential to meeting strict deadlines.
A crucial aspect of this role is reviewing plans and drawings, supervising subcontractors across the project, and planning work efficiently to ensure quality control and quality measures are upheld on sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage a safe worksite above all competing factors at all times.
2. Manage a safe workforce, including direct staff and subcontractors.
3. Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project.
4. Drive the project forward by anticipating requirements.
5. Review plans and drawings, and supervise subcontractors across the project.
6. Plan work efficiently, ensuring strict deadlines are met.
7. Oversee quality control and quality measures on sites.
8. Resolve unexpected technical difficulties in consultation with Design Managers.
9. Communicate clearly to all stakeholders.
10. Attend regular meetings with clients, architects, and consultants, keeping them informed of progress.
11. Coordinate quality management and BCAR.
12. Ensure energy management aligns with our Energy program.
13. Handle technical queries and interface with the client, consultant, and architect regarding RFIs.
Qualifications / Experience
The ideal candidate for this role should have over 10 years of experience, preferably within a main or specialist contractor. They should also possess experience in low-rise traditional masonry builds of 20+ residential units. A trade background is welcome, as well as excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and confidence to lead. The candidate should also have in-depth knowledge of the construction industry and project execution, along with computer literacy in MS Office, Excel, project, or a similar scheduling package. Additionally, they should have good knowledge of safety and quality management, with an ability to mentor and motivate the team with confidence.
