Job Title: Audio Producer (Part Time)Function: EditorialDepartment: EditorialReporting to: Group Head of AudioRole PurposeWe are seeking a part-time Audio Producer (2 days per week) to work on our new Sex and Relationships podcast and play a key role in the development of this new personality-led podcast.The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality and engaging content that sets our podcast apart. They will work closely with audio team, journalists and editors across Mediahuis Ireland in a busy, deadline-driven environment bringing top-quality content to listeners.Role Responsibilities (Overview)Take ownership and build our podcast listenership by developing a content strategy across audio, video and social media.Oversee output; from pre-production, research to recording, editing, and publishing.Develop creative and innovative ideas for formats, interviews, and features to keep the content fresh and in line with audience preferences.Identify and secure the best contributors.Develop strong relationships with presenters and regular contributors.Give constructive feedback to presenters and guests.Collaborate with hosts, guests, and other team members to ensure seamless production workflowsWork closely with sound designers, give clear feedback and direction in post-production.Other duties as required.Experience & Qualifications (Minimum Experience & Essential Knowledge)At least 2 years' podcast, radio production or journalism experience.3rd level media/journalist qualification desirable.A portfolio or reel highlighting previous work in audio production.Audio-editing and/or video editing skills a plus.SkillsBehaviouralHands-on, creative experience of growing audience reach within the radio or podcast industry.Strong presentation and communication skills.Strong storytelling skills.Ability to plan ahead and stay organised.Flexibility to adapt to a continuously changing journalistic landscape.Data-driven approach to driving listenership.Deep interest and understanding of the podcast landscape.OtherExtensive working knowledge of libel law and relevant legislation.Editing skills (Adobe Audition and/or Protools, as well as Descript) and experience of other relevant software (cms and transcription).Photoshop and premiere pro skills a plus.Data literate comfortable analysing with all podcast platform metrics.
