The Assistant Manager will report to the Leisure Centre Manager and Hotel Manager in their absence.
Purpose:
The Assistant Manager is to assist, supervise and control where necessary users and staff of the Leisure Centre & Spa and to ensure that all activity areas are ready for use as required in terms of Hygiene and Health and Safety. He/she will ensure that the Leisure Centre' & Spas Customer Care policy is always maintained.
Summary of Responsibilities and Personal Duties:
1. To oversee and assist in the carrying out of all responsibilities and duties held by the Leisure Centre / Spa / Lifeguard staff.
2. Generally assist the Manager in furthering the successful operation of the Leisure Centre & Spa facility as required and carry out the Leisure Centre Manager's duties in his/her absence.
3. To assist with the end of month management reports.
4. Supervise, delegate to, and train other Leisure Centre staff in accordance with management policies and the directions of the Manager.
5. To oversee and maintain an efficient and cost effective pool plant operation.
6. Be responsible for time-tabling, staffing and costing of pool and gym activities/classes held in the Leisure Centre.
7. Marketing of Leisure Centre within local community and Corporate based clients.
8. Track membership numbers, retention and update daily.
9. Be directly involved with staff rosters, job interviews, inductions, progress reports, appraisals and staff motivation.
10. Implement swim program and fitness class timetable.
11. Oversee stock control / purchasing and implement methods to which achieve set sales targets.
12. Maintain hygiene standards
13. Review +1 book and action plans on weekly basis. Member survey.
14. Organize and promote member socials and newsletter.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 6 months' experience as a Leisure Centre Supervisor or similar role
* Fully qualified and certified Gym Instructor
* Fully qualified and certified Lifeguard (with current certification)
* Qualified Swim Instructor (with current certification)
* Certified in Occupational First Aid (with current certification)
* Knowledge and experience of using an invoicing system
* Fluent in written and spoken English
* Legally eligible to work in Ireland
Desirable:
* Certified Pool Plant Room Operator (with current certification)
