Within our Transmission & Distribution team, we deliver mission-critical design packages that transform the reliability, availability, and efficiency of the energy network, moving it towards a greener, more sustainable future. Department highlights include:

Driving complex design delivery: We design AIS/GIS substations from 20 kV to 220 kV and contestable build and non-contestable stations in the range of 40 to 550 MVA CCGT. Connections include conventional and renewable Power Generation, Peaking, Battery Storage, DS3 and Solar PV plants and large demand loads such as data centres and process plants.
Delivery of high-complexity design frameworks: NeoDyne is a gas network design framework supplier, playing a significant role in providing electrical and instrumentation engineering services for the onshore Natural Gas Industry and Regulated gas utility sector in Ireland and the UK. Our expertise includes Compressor Station, AGI Electrical & Instrumentation design, Fiscal and non-Fiscal metering, and Cathodic Protection.

With a team of 220+ skilled engineers, our expertise spans the entire project lifecycle, from design and implementation to commissioning and operations. From our offices in Ireland, the UK, Romania, and the US, we operate on a global scale, combining technical expertise with local delivery. We support customers across Europe, North America, and Asia, delivering tailored engineering services that drive long-term success.
Position Summary
NeoDyne is recruiting a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our expanding Transmission & Distribution team. Our graduate programme is all about learning new and developing your existing skills. Over a two-year period, you will be placed in projects where you get to do meaningful work and contribute to the business.
This Graduate opportunity is offered as a full-time permanent contract, based at our Galway Office, with an excellent salary and benefits package. Responsibilities

Data Centre and Substation Electrical Design: including all associated electrical calculations from specifying HV equipment to sizing of station LV battery units, design of control and protection systems, and layout of plans and equipment locations. Use state-of-the-art engineering software for control and protection design and substation layouts.
Carrying out Power Systems Electrical Studies: Load Estimates, Protection Coordination, Cable Sizing calculations and earthing studies. Use leading-edge power system modelling software to run steady‑state and transient electrical studies, including short‑circuit studies, arc‑flash and grid compliance studies for proposed renewable generation.
Generating technical reports and reviewing technical documentation.

Required Experience & Skills

Level 8 Degree in Electrical/Energy Engineering, or equivalent.
Full Irish driving licence or to be achieved within 12 months of starting the role.

Desired

0‑2 years experience in a similar electrical design role or Work Placement.
Experience in developing Electrical Schematics using AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar.
Experience in developing equipment layouts using AutoCAD, or similar.
