Employing a dedicated Social Worker to the Assessment and Intervention Team is an exciting opportunity to work in a frontline service responding to child protection and welfare concerns within a supportive, multidisciplinary team environment.
This role plays a vital part in safeguarding children and supporting families through early-stage engagement. As a member of the team, you'll carry a diverse caseload involving initial assessments, safety planning, and early interventions.
The position requires timely assessments of referrals received by the team in line with TUSLA's National Approach to Practice (Signs of Safety). The successful candidate will develop and implement safety plans and short-term interventions for families, ensuring that children's welfare remains central.
Liaising with schools, healthcare professionals, An Garda Sochna, and other key stakeholders to inform assessments and promote joined-up responses is crucial. Building trusting, respectful relationships with children and families, supporting them to engage in the assessment process, is also essential.
Maintaining high-quality case notes, reports, and assessments in compliance with legal, policy, and organisational standards is required. Participating in team meetings, case conferences, supervision, and CPD activities as part of a professional, collaborative team is also necessary.
Requirements:
* Bachelor or Master's Degree in Social Work or equivalent recognised by CORU
* Registered with CORU
* Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience, ideally within child protection, child welfare, or early intervention services
* Understanding of Children First Guidelines, Child Care Act 1991, and relevant legislation
* Full clean driving licence and access to own vehicle
