Overview
AECOM continues to expand its Infrastructure Development team in Ireland and requires a Principal Engineer to join the Dublin, Galway or Cork office in Ireland. The team has an established track record of delivering development infrastructure schemes for a diverse client base, including developers, retailers, landowners, housebuilders, blue-chip companies, and universities. The current portfolio covers local and national development and civil infrastructure projects from feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
Responsibilities
* Deliver: Provide high quality civil engineering support and services to all project stages, from feasibility through to Detailed Design and Construction, for a wide range of clients.
* Oversee: Take ownership of project-stage tasks, collaborate with other design team members, mentor entry-level engineers, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver designs within programme and budget.
* Provide Expertise: Apply technical knowledge on multi-disciplinary projects, particularly drainage design, from concept to implementation.
* Ensure Quality: Adhere to QA/QC procedures, identify risks to programme and budget early, and work with clients to overcome challenges.
* Collaborate: Work with internal and external multidisciplinary engineers and stakeholders to deliver integrated designs and build strong relationships for project success.
Qualifications
* A Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
* Chartered or working towards Chartered status with the Institution of Engineers of Ireland or Institution of Civil Engineers or relevant Institution.
* Relevant experience in design and delivery of civil infrastructure from inception to handover, including SUDs design, water main distribution pipelines, storm and foul networks, surface water catchment analysis, flood risk assessments, highway and pavement design, earthworks modelling, with working knowledge of DMRB and DMURS.
* Experience using industry-standard software including Microdrainage or InfoDrainage, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
* Experience working in a multidisciplinary design team and liaising with architects, planning consultants, and external consultants.
* Experience undertaking site inspections, witnessing tests, reporting, and responding to technical RFIs during construction.
