PFH Technology Groupare seeking a Database Administrator to join one of our key clients to be fully remote in Ireland.Overview:A skilled and experienced Database Administrator is required to support a range of strategic projects involving SQL Server environments. This role involves managing, maintaining, and optimizing databases while ensuring performance, security, and reliability standards are met.Key Responsibilities:Provide database support for upgrades, assessments, and migrationsOffer expert advice to stakeholders on all aspects of database managementPerform troubleshooting and resolution of database-related issuesConduct daily monitoring of the database estateImplement and enforce SQL Server security best practicesManage new database builds, upgrades, and server migrationsPerform database backups and restores as requiredInstall service packs, cumulative updates, and patchesMonitor and maintain storage resources and database maintenance plansUtilize DBA tools for deployment and management tasksDeliverables:Conduct health check assessments of the SQL database estateIdentify and document SQL Servers/DatabasesRecord configuration details, versions, dependencies, and backup statusValidate backup integrity and test restore processesAnalyze storage and configuration needsExecute database migrations to new environmentsConfigure new SQL Servers and instancesApply patches and updatesTransfer databases and create rollback plansPost-migration tasksOngoing monitoring of the database environmentUpdate documentationDecommission outdated or redundant serversRequired Skills & Competencies:Minimum of 2 years' experience in SQL Database AdministrationExperience managing and monitoring replicated SQL databasesStrong knowledge of database security, backup/recovery, and performance tuningFamiliarity with business continuity strategies related to database systemsPowerShell scripting (desirable)Proficiency in creating stored procedures, views, and functionsPersonal Attributes:Strong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and take initiativeEffective communication skills, both written and verbalHigh attention to detailStrong time management and ability to meet deadlinesCollaborative and professional approach when interacting with stakeholdersPFH Technology, owned by Ricoh – a Japanese based global ICT company, is a premier provider of end-to-end ICT solutions and a managed services portfolio scaling from SMEs to large Enterprise organisations.
