Company Accountant- SME Company Based in Dublin 11 Office based role Reporting to Managing Director Job Purpose The Company Accountant will manage all financial activities, ensuring accuracy in recording transactions, providing timely management information to support decision-making, and maintaining strict compliance with tax regulations.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical skills and an ability to improve internal processes for a growing SME.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow analysis, to be presented to senior management.
Month-End/Year-End: Lead the month-end closing process, including reconciliations of bank, debtor, creditor, and intercompany accounts.
Compliance & Tax: Manage VAT, PAYE/PRSI returns, and ensure compliance with Irish Revenue requirements.
Prepare files for annual statutory audit.
Accounts Function Management: Oversee AP/AR, ensuring timely supplier payments and customer collections.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Prepare annual budgets, cash forecasts, and monthly expenditure analysis.
Process Improvement: Identify areas for efficiency improvements in financial systems, including digital accounting software.
Payroll: Oversee or process weekly/monthly payroll, including deductions and compliance.
Candidate Requirements Qualification: Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CPA) or a finalist/ strong part-qualified accountant with 2+ years of relevant experience.
Experience: Previous experience in an SME or a, fast-paced environment is essential.
Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of Irish accounting standards and tax requirements.
High proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
