Job Description
Joints SC PMO, SI&D is recruiting for a Project Planning Specialist, a global role located in Raynham, MA; Warsaw, IN; Cork, Ireland; Suzhou, China; Blackpool/ Leeds, UK.
The PMO Project Planning Specialist will oversee the planning phase of key strategic projects within the JOINTS Portfolio, responsible for development, systematic implementation, and training in scheduling methodology and tools, coordinating the project scheduling team to ensure expert scheduler support for complex business-critical projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Owns contracts and manages the hiring, motivation, and development of Project Schedulers to facilitate high performance in line with J & J Standards of leadership.
* Implements a consistent project scheduling process across the Joints Platform to ensure execution and control of Capital Projects with investments greater than $200k are tracked through fully integrated, risk-assessed schedules stored on a central platform with dynamic digital reporting.
* Conducts training on project planning and scheduling tools to enhance organizational expertise, improve project management efficiency, and equip Project Leads with essential skills.
* Manages schedule development for key strategic projects, including analysis and synthesis of information, qualitative analysis of schedules, critical path and constraints analysis, and schedule risk assessments.
* Uses techniques like Monte Carlo Analysis for proactive risk mitigation planning.
* Implements mechanisms to measure, record, and report progress, such as S-Curves.
* Analyzes options to identify variances and forecast impacts, and applies schedule compression techniques to reduce delays.
* Drives improvements to project planning methodology and tools, assessing new tools and implementing industry standards.
* Coordinates and leads communication between the global scheduling team and other departments, sharing insights and lessons learned.
* Ensures compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines, and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
* A minimum of a bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Data Science, or related fields.
Experience and Skills
* Expertise in scheduling tools (MS Project or Primavera P6).
* At least 5 years’ experience in project planning, control, and management.
* Leadership experience and project management skills.
* Knowledge in risk evaluation and management.
* Preferred: Data analytical capabilities.
