My Client is a leading FMCG Organisation – number 1 in its category. Due to internal movement and retirements, they are now looking for a Retail Development Representative to join the team. I had a very positive meeting with Carol, the Sales Manager, who provided detailed insights into the business performance, expectations, and potential achievements in the role.
Highlights of the Role:
* Carol's experience as an RDR is a significant selling point; she worked as an RDR for 2 years before her promotion over 4 years ago.
* The team is stable and successful, with continuous growth over the last 5 years, and is currently number 1 in its category.
* The role requires an organized, structured, personable individual capable of educating customers. The RDR will make 9-10 calls daily, with a collaborative team approach and potential for a full bonus.
* There are two positions available: one for the South East and another for the Limerick/South Galway region.
* Success and career progression are significant advantages; the bonus structure is at 24%, with most reps achieving full bonus.
Minimum Requirements:
* 1-4 years of FMCG sales experience, specifically selling to Convenience (BWG) stores or Retailers.
* Must have a full driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive sales across retail multiple and independent stores, as well as key wholesale accounts.
* Establish and maintain relationships with approximately 150-160 retail, independent, and wholesale outlets within your territory.
* Understand customer needs and shopper behavior deeply.
* Educate retailers on our brands, market terms, and industry legislation to foster customer advocacy.
* Achieve sales, market share, distribution, and visibility targets within your area.
* Identify merchandising opportunities to optimize shelf space and visibility of Imperial brands.
* Monitor competitor activity and identify new business opportunities based on category and shopper insights.
Key Requirements:
* 1-3 years of field sales experience within FMCG.
* Strong relationship-building, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
* Motivation to learn and grow within the sales field, with flexibility to support current teams when needed.
