Field Service Engineer – Early Career / University Graduates
Location: Leixlip, Ireland (Co. Kildare)
Salary: €36,****** - €49,****** per year.
Overview
Applies as a direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading semiconductor equipment, and using digital analytics for troubleshooting and basic diagnostics.
Supports customers to ensure high-quality performance in a clean-room, high-precision environment.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.
Install, maintain and troubleshoot advanced semiconductor equipment.
Use digital diagnostic tools and data-based predictive maintenance (including AI) to solve technical problems.
Collaborate with experienced engineers in structured, process-driven environments.
Communicate directly with customers to coordinate service and ensure exceptional support.
Participate in continuous-improvement programs and support a zero-defect culture.
Qualifications
Current or expected completion *****) of a relevant bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering.
Basic mechanical aptitude in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
Familiarity with hand tools and digital multimeters.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to follow structured procedures.
Willingness to travel internationally (˜20%) and work in clean-room or high-precision environments.
Flexibility to work day, night, weekend, or holiday shifts as required.
Team-player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and consensus.
Physical & Safety Requirements
Perform physical movements: bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, extended walking and standing.
Operate hand and power tools; wear PPE (coveralls, hoods, booties, glasses, gloves, respirators, aprons, face shields).
Work in confined, noisy, or chemical environments as required.
Identify color differences and safety hazards.
