The Clinical Nurse Manager 1 will provide clinical and professional leadership in the nursing team, ensuring that patients receive prescribed treatment and care consistent with hospital policy.
Key Responsibilities:
1. CLINICAL NURSING PRACTICE
* Demonstrate clinical expertise and leadership skills in direct nursing care.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of nursing frameworks and models.
* Ensure accurate assessment and planning of individual patient needs.
* Collaborate with medical staff to inform patients and families about their condition and treatment plans.
* Facilitate multidisciplinary ward rounds and meetings.
2. EFFECTIVE TEAMWORK
* Promote a positive work environment and foster teamwork among nursing and other staff.
* Support change management initiatives based on evidence-based practice.
* Ensure adherence to welfare and safety policies.
* Provide effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
3. STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION
* Assess and address training needs for nursing staff.
* Develop and implement orientation programs for new staff members.
* Identify teaching opportunities within the unit.
* Participate in staff development programs to support new services.
4. BED MANAGEMENT AND QUALITY OF CARE
* Assist in implementing bed management policies.
* Coordinate safe and timely patient admissions and discharges.
* Monitor indicators of quality and outcomes of care.
5. SELF-DEVELOPMENT
* Maintain and update knowledge on professional development and current trends.
* Promote and participate in self-performance reviews.
